The hazard of using an RSE

system with a grounded signal

source is the introduction of

ground loops, a possible source

of measurement error. Similarly,

using a differential or NRSE

system to measure a floating

source will very likely be

plagued by bias currents, which

cause the input voltage to drift

out of the range of the DAQ

device (although you can

correct this problem by placing

bias resistors from the inputs to

ground).
